Wilson Transformer Company (WTC) is the Australian leading transformer
manufacturer with annual sales exceeding $200 million. Founded in 1933, we
are 100% Australian-owned and employ over 600 people. WTC is committed to
support Australian industry as well as targeted export markets. The Corporate Head
Office and Power Transformer manufacturing plant are located on a 4 hectare site
in Glen Waverley, 20km east of Melbourne’s CBD. In the modern 17,500m2 Glen
Waverley plant, a wide range of power transformers up to 550MVA and 400kV
are developed, designed and manufactured. Each transformer can be fitted with
conventional controls or a dynamic rating, monitoring, control and communication
system (DRMCC) from WTC’s subsidiary, Dynamic Ratings. The Wodonga plant
produces standard and customised distribution transformers and compact
substations up to 5000kVA, at voltages up to 72kV. The two proximate Wodonga
sites cover 8 hectares with a total floor area of 13,500m2. Between 2009 and 2012,
both the Glen Waverley and Wodonga facilities were substantially upgraded. The
$80 million investment has increased capacity and capability by utilising the latest
equipment and systems to safely and productively produce high quality products.
Internationally, WTC has a sales office in the United Kingdom supporting Europe,
Middle East and Africa regions. WTC also has distribution transformer joint ventures
in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia to support these regional markets.
